Hit and Run Crash Kills Bicyclist in North Hills

June 8, 2012 - According to reports a bicyclist was killed in a hit and run accident in North Hills. According to Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Ivan Minsal, the bicycle accident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Nordoff Street, in the vicinity of the 405 Freeway in North Hills. Capt. Minsal said the bike rider was traveling east on Nordoff Street, near Woodly Avenue in the lane closest to the curb, when the hit and run occurred.

Investigators said the bicyclist was a man in his 60’s and believe he was exercising at the time he was struck. They suspect the hit and run vehicle they are searching for is a black or dark blue, small to medium sized SUV. Capt. Minsal said police believe that the SUV has damage to the right front end, windshield and roof or roof rack.

Police said that the SUV was last seen heading eastbound on Nordoff Street in the direction of the 405 Freeway. They are asking anyone with information about the hit and run to contact the LAPD.
