January 15, 2012 - According to reports actor Gene Hackman was struck and injured while riding a bicycle. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, actor and Academy Award winner Gene Hackman age 81 was struck at approximately 3:00 p.m. Friday in the bike accident.
Hackman who was injured according to his representative was airlifted to a trauma hospital after his bicycle was struck by a car in the Florida Keys. They stated the airlift was necessary due to the his location in the Florida Keys for treatment and routine tests.
According to the actors representatives he was not severely injured and is doing well, suffering bumps and bruises. Hackman is said to be returning home to recuperate after being treated for his injuries.
